Call for Donations – Oxygenator Unit

Support Lifesaving Medical Treatments in Abaco

Fishing and Diving are the lifeblood of many of our residents here in Abaco, not to mention an important part of the tourist industry in the Family Islands. Following several tragic diving accidents, Abaco Strong joined with Community Leaders to bring this lifesaving device to Abaco.

The installation of the first Hyperbaric Chamber in Marsh Harbour, made possible by the generosity of an anonymous donor to Abaco Strong, will provide an invaluable life-saving service for the Northern Family Islands of the Bahamas, as well as other medical services for the general health and well-being of our residents. The unit is located at The Integrated Medical Centre in Marsh Harbour.

 

While the unit can temporarily operate with oxygen tanks, an oxygenator unit is needed as a more permanent solution to support emergency and non-emergency medical treatments. Abaco Strong is making an urgent plea to diving enthusiasts and all of our supporters to help us raise $25,000 to purchase this much needed equipment. Learn more here.
